High School Announcements:
Congratulations to Grace Dunham, the February Senior of the Month for Mt. Zion High School.
Grace’s activities during High School include : Tennis, Key Club, Tribe, SADD Board Member, FCA, Board Games Club, Intramural Basketball, Asian American Student Association, Illuminate Youth Group
Honors during High School: High Honor Roll
Grace plans on attending Richland Community College following graduation. She is undecided on what she will study.
Grace is the child of Mark and Gail Dunham.

Color Guard will be holding an open gym on Monday February 26th 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm for anyone interested in joining Color Guard for the 2024-2025 school year. You will meet in the Band Room. Wear athletic clothes and tennis shoes. Equipment will be supplied for you. If you have any questions, see Mr. Ward in the Band Room.

FFA will also host a food drive that will start Monday the 19th to Friday the 23rd, so bring in your canned goods into your second hour class. The second hour with the most cans gets Casey's donuts one morning.
Reminder: NHS Applications are Due by 3:00 pm Friday 2/23. No late applications are accepted. Applications MUST be given directly to Mrs. McQuality in a clearly labeled manila envelope with ALL required materials.

The YMCA is looking for Summer Day Camp Counselors. If interested, please pick up a flyer outside the Guidance Office.
Seniors, make sure you check your email from Miss Kieffer to learn more about an opportunity to hear about our area's Pre-Apprenticeship Program. If you are interested in a career in Construction and/or various Building Trades, you should be attending this informational meeting that is taking place this Friday, February 23rd during 3rd hour. The Pre-Apprenticeship Program is FREE, offers a stipend while in the program, and prepares you to successfully transition to a Department of Labor registered apprenticeship in the trades. A sign up sheet to attend is outside the Guidance Office
Students, the Hiring Fair hosted by the Decatur Park District was rescheduled to this Friday, February 23rd from 3 to 6 pm. This will take place at the DISC. This is a great opportunity with a ton of positions available! If you do not have a job set up for yourself for the summer just yet, I would highly encourage you to attend this event!
Southeast Missouri University (SEMO) is hosting a Future Teacher Day on April 12th. Juniors, be sure to check your email from Mrs. Kasey for complete details about this visit opportunity.
